What’s the biggest fresh water fish that you ever caught?
Tyrus asked:
What Season was it, and what was the time of day?
Where were you when you caught it?
Were you on land, or in a boat? What kind of boat?
What pound test did you use, and how long to land it?

My biggest catch as of current was a 22 lb channel cat that I caught on 12 lb test while fishing alone at the Lake Michigan channel in Muskegon Mi, during the late Summer evening hours of 9-12-2004. It took me 24 minutes to land it, and after doing so, a nearby fisherman offered me 10 bucks for it, of which I turned down, thus gave it to him for nothing.

My biggest freshwater fish was a Chinook Salmon that weighed about 15lbs and was 33inches long. I was on the inlet of the Umatilla River to the Columbia River the week of Mother’s Day 2006. I used 14lb Fireline, and it was quite the fight to land him. Well worth the $ in Lures that I lost and the best tasing fish I have ever caught.

My biggest fish was a 39 pound channel cat caught on the Cape Fear River in NC in May 2002. It was caught on a Shakespeare Ugly Stick with a Zebco 808 with 25 pound Cajun Line. We were on a Polarcraft 19 foot with a Evinrude 50hp. That was about 10 minutes of fighting…….That same night my partner caught a 53 pound Channel about 1/2 mile down stream.
My biggest largemouth bass was an 8 lb 5 oz taken in 2001 at Holland Lake, Ft Bragg, NC on a Zebco 33 Classic with 10lb test using a Strike King 3X Pumpkinseed and Chartruese 6 inch curl tail.
My biggest stripper was this June on the Cape Fear River…. 10 lb 3 oz…. on a Shakepeare Spincast and Shimano rod…. 8 lbs Berkey Trilene caught from a small private dock just upstream from Lock 14.

Actually i think i broke a NY state record last week with a monster catch. It took about 5 minutes to fight this thing in to the shore. I just need to check the record books and see if there is a “Largest SeaWeed” catch!! LOL
