Surf fishing in Saint Augustine, FL?
Joe asked:
I have a few surf rod set ups (fairly old, but some new line and they will be ready to go) and would like to know some good fishing spots and techniques for fishing from shore. I always fished with heavy pyramid weights and two hooks with frozen shrimp for bait. I am new to the area, so a decent list of what I can expect to catch (realistically) would also be helpful. Thanks a lot!!

Try these two sites :
myfwc.com/fishingareas.html
These are the sites that I use before I head down for some fishing. Florida Sportsman is usually right on top with their information. You should also check with some of the local bait & tackle shops to see what is happening. Also, most of the surf anglers I talk to down there have retired their long rods for the shorter versions for surf fishing. A lot of times the fish are right on the beach. Hey good luck & don’t forget the sunblock!
